Diamond Batteries

Diamond Batteries

Nano diamond batteries can be considered as future of battery technology as they can provide ultimate solution for long-lasting batteries with the ability to last for several thousand years. Diamond batteries are also known as “Nuclear Batteries” as these are fueled by recycled nuclear waste. Radioactive decay generates highly energetic electrons which can be exploited to deposit energy in semi-conducting diamond, creating a burst of electrons which is then utilized to provide a safe and long-lasting solution to power generation. In simple words, we can say that diamond batteries use a betavoltaic technique wherein the radiations from the nuclear waste get converted into electric energy. Diamond batteries are definitely the future of energy storage.
